The CLADDING panel of Proteus Facades occupies a prominent place in the new enterprise and innovation center of Nottingham Trent University (NTU).

Proteus explained that higher education providers are increasingly using alternatives to traditional brick and mortar. This is the architect’s designated mirror finish for the £9 million New Dryden Enterprise Centre (DEC) designed by Evans. One of the reasons for the surface and grid cladding Vettori was built by the Henry brothers.

The building was developed in conjunction with the existing Dryden Center, a cubic structure built in 1976 and refurbished as part of the development.

The new extension is connected to the renovated structure.

Proteus manufactured customized Proteus SC aluminum 3mm aluminum PPC Carina expansion net and Proteus HR 0.8mm Rimex super mirror 316 stainless steel rain screen soffit for refurbishment and new structures.

Proteus SC is an engineered panel system, available in solid, perforated or mesh panel formats. The thickness of the system can be between 1 mm and 5 mm, and the sound insulation layer is encapsulated in the panel.

The Proteus SC panel is finished in PPC Pearl Beige (RAL 1035) and has a distinctive feature on the facade of the cube structure.

The vertical part of the net-like cladding extends from the ground to the upper layer, and then surrounds the entire top layer.

Proteus said the panels were chosen to "soften" the blocky appearance of the refurbished structure and complement the pearls, bricks and glass on the facade of the new development.
